1. What is the cost to buy a flag to honor my hero?
Each flag may be purchased for $50 each. A separate fee of $10 applies if you want us to mail the flag to your honoree anywhere in the U.S.
2. Who benefits from the sale of flags and sponsorships?
All proceeds benefit the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which is responsible for constructing appropriate veterans memorials in Arlington Veterans Park. Pictures of the existing memorials as well as a planned memorial to those who fought in the Korean conflict may be seen on the separate Veterans Park Foundation tab to this website.
3. Isn’t Patriots Day on April 15?
Yes, Patriots Day is celebrated on April 15 in Maine, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and Connecticut to observe the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Patriot Day (without the “s”) is the annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and those who served during in its aftermath. Our Patriot Day Field of Honor honors the lives of active military, veterans, fire, police, paramedics, and all other heroes, living and deceased.
4. What size are the flags on the Field of Honor?
Each flag is full size 3’ by 5’
5. What information is on the tag attached to the flagpole?
Each tag will include the name of the honoree, the type of service (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Marines, Police Fire, EMT) and additional information up to 30 characters.
6. Can you mail the flag to me or my honoree?
Yes. We will mail your flag to any place in the United States or its territories for an additional $10.
7. What is Colonial Flag Foundation?
CFF, a 501(c)3, owns the copyright to the term Field of Honor®. They assist with event planning and marketing, provide the flags and flag set, and provide a grid for marking the field.
8. What will be in the box mailed with the flag?
The mailer will include a card thanking your hero for their service and a statement that the flag was flown in their honor during the Arlington Patriot Day Field of honor September 3 through 11, 2022.
